Start with contents

 With this unit, we are going to teach healthy habits, the difference between healthy and unhalthy food, kind of foods in different countries, likes and dislikes and vocabulary related to this topic.

The teaching objectives of it are:
  1. To know new vocabulary 
  2. To understand the concept of being healthy
  3. To take care of the body
  4. To build a possitive image of themselves
  5. To appreciate some sports and exercises
  6. To use correctly the grammar.
The outcomes of this unit will be that the children will learn to eat heathily and will know more about other cultures' food. As a result, this will increase the motivation and the interest for knowing other countries.

Now link content with communication

The language needed to use will have Present Simple, Past Simple, Past Perfect, Like/Dislike, Adverbs of frequency.

For this, we will have to revise come grammar before starting with the unit, to assure they have the properly grammar they will need to complete the unit successfully.

The language used in the description of the activities is appropiate for them and they do not need to ask for too much words. Only in the case of some particular words that they could look for them in a dictionary.

Now explore the kind of thinking skills you can develop according to decisions made above

The kind of questions we must ask will have some related with the everyday life of the pupils, to make them feel comfortable with this topic. The topic have been selected to explore the motivation of the pupils, it is a topic which engage the children.

The tasks selected are funny and motivational, because the students will have to make and answer questions, working in groups, use some technological tools and create presentations. This unit, with the language and the content, will help the students to know more about health, and because the unit will be tested with the class work and with technological tools, will be a kind of work not very usual for them, it is very innovative and this is a wonderful advantage for us, as teachers.

Once you have already done the presentation...You are ready for the moment of truth...

In groups, you will have to design 4 questions in this webpage. Later, all the groups will be tested with the same questions you have created.

HEALTHY HABITS

This Unit is created for the 6th course of Primary Education, for the 2nd Term of the scholar year.

The justificartion of this unit comes from the necessity of being aware of the own body and how to eat healthy with a balanced diet. Nowadays, almost every child eats fast food frequently and the children do not have a varied diet. For this reason, it is necessary to learn more about this topic, as well as knowing some illnesses related to the food.
